Dick Flavin is the author of TIP (According to Tip), a new play which made its debut at The New Rep Theatre in Boston starring Tony Award winner Ken Howard as the legendary Speaker of the House Tip O'Neill. The play, which enjoyed an extended run at New Rep and received several shining reviews, won the Best New Play of 2008 from the Independent Reviewers of New England.

Mr. Flavin is also one of America's leading speakers and writers. Dick Flavin has made thousands of appearances all across America. His television commentaries have appeared on NBC TV, CNN and on WBZ TV in Boston. He is the winner of seven Emmy Awards for television writing and commentary. Dick Flavin was the narrator of The Teammates, an ESPN documentary that was nominated for three 2004 Emmy Awards.

Dick Flavin has performed Teddy at the Bat, his memorial tribute to the late Ted Williams, before twenty five thousand people in Boston's Fenway Park and also at the National Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York, and in other cities across the country. The San Francisco Examiner called it a "showstopper," and a "stunning, bravura bit."

Dick Flavin has written and performed special material for the Boston Pops and Symphony orchestras and he has taught courses on the uses of humor and satire at Harvard University and Brandeis University.
